^^Even though we are not living in America, I still wanted to celebrate the 4th of July with Amélie. She is half American after all! I finally got around to erasing the old 36 week chalkboard and quickly did one for the 4th. Her Auntie Tiff bought her a dress perfect for the holiday so she was all set with her red, white and blue.
^^A and I started off the day with whole wheat toast with almond butter and festive fruit.
^^A went off to work and the little one was in a good mood this morning so we did a little photoshoot! Those cheeks are just getting so big, love them!
^^It was a really nice and sunny day, so we ventured out for a walk in the afternoon. I ended up with an ice cream, Amélie took a nice nap.
^^A was back and it was time for a few star-themed nibbles, but I don't think Amélie was too interested :) The cheese and crackers were my fav and those star shaped watermelon were a pain to cut out especially with a small watermelon with tons of seeds. Oh, Pinterest.
^^I couldn't help but make another tassel garland, this one red, white and blue. Amélie loves the pink, gold and cream one in her room. She is always staring at it when we are in there!
^^Dinner was very simple - hot dogs, sweet potato fries and corn on the cob. I really wanted to make a flag cake like this, but since I didn't want to end up eating an entire cake (because I totally would!), I just made a little fruit flag instead.
No fireworks or barbecue, but I was still happy to have a little Fourth of July celebration. One day, we'll be in America to celebrate!
^^Lastly, we tried to take a family selfie, but these two did not want to cooperate with me!
Happy 4th of July!
